Body Index Reading
At JHT, when we talk about BMI, our “index” is far more comprehensive than a simple algorithm of your height and weight.
Eat Right, Train Right, Repeat
When evaluating an individual’s nutritional requirements that are many factors to be considered: height, weight, age, sex, bone density, muscularity, ethnicity and dietary habits, to name but a few. Generally, we tend to think of BMI (Body Mass Index) in terms of a well-known graph that simply indicates obesity.
In fact, there are many athletes such as endurance athletes and bodybuilders who are partly excluded from the normal BMI tables. For such athletes, other standards have to be set. These athletic disciplines predominantly have lower body fat which leads to better results.

Your tailored BMI
Depending on the sport you are training for, BMI is a tool that we can use to measure to track any physical changes that might occur as a result of changes to your nutrition or training. We are completely on top of when it is going right, and when it is going wrong.
At JHT Performance, our BMI readings are far more comprehensive than the standard height and weight measurement. It forms only one part of our anthropometric data gathering.
Just tell me what to eat, I don’t care about the science.
It is not unusual for nutritionists working at the highest level to hear the words, “just tell me what to eat, I don’t care about the science.” Even premiership footballers have this attitude…and that’s fine because YES, we can do that. However, the advantage of having a performance nutritionist is the luxury of being able to have any questions answered.
If you are interested in a more detailed scientific approach to nutrition and want to learn more about how your body functions, we are more than willing to help give you any education guidance that you require.
