SERVICES JHT PERFORMANCE PROVIDE

JHT is a performance nutrition consultancy that helps elite athletes optimise their performance by tailoring their nutrition.

Nutrition is a cornerstone of elite performance.

Performance Nutrition is one of the fastest growing areas in the UK, with many universities now offering undergraduate and postgraduate courses to become qualified. However, with the rise of Social Media platforms such as Instagram and Tik Tok, it is easy to become confused and swept along with the latest ‘fad diet’ such as Keto, Paleo, Low Carb – High Fat, 80/20 Diet, just to name a few. The list goes on with names of so called ‘diets’ that promise uplifts in performance and improvements in body composition.

JHT Performance Nutrition is research informed – meaning we review research in the areas of metabolism, nutrition, biochemistry and human behaviour to inform the guidelines we provide to athletes we support. We have a desire to support elite athletes to create their own, bespoke nutrition approach that supports improvements in training and match day metrics, or performance competition metrics if you compete in an individual event or sport, that serves to minimise injury risk, maximise performance and improve overall wellness by positively impacting other elements such as sleep and habits.

If you are a team who is looking for nutrition education for your players, please reach out to see how we can tailor a programme to suit your club to impact senior players, academy players as well as host families, parents and coaches to support your athletes knowledge and practical cooking skills to support performance in their sport.

THE FOLLOWING ELEMENTS HAVE BEEN SHORTENED

Sports Nutrition

JHT was created through our founders desire to individualise nutrition provision for any athlete that collaborates and choose to work with JHT Performance Nutrition services.

Client Profiling

JHT uses a range of tools to support you on this nutrition journey. We work to understand where you currently are, and use that to build a plan of how we’re going to get where you want to be. Athlete profiling is a valuable part of the process that allows you to understand the rationale, and science, behind the guidelines we provide.

The Female Athlete

JHT are aware that there is so much conflicting information. When this happens it’s always most helpful to come back to what we know, what has been demonstrated to have an impact and how we implement that to the greatest effect for athletes. The female athlete space is growing in interest in sport science research. Take a look at our values and how we operate with this in mind.

Just tell me what to eat, I don’t care about the science.

This type of approach doesn’t serve anyone to any benefit. If you decide you would like to work with JHT it would be best if it is from a place of curiosity and a willingness to work together to determine your goals and objectives through the process.

This is not a reductionist approach. At JHT we will not ‘tell you what to eat’. This is often a misguided approach that leads to poor, destructive relationships with food and nutrition. We will work together to identify what habits you have around food and nutrition, as well as training and competition, to discover what you do around food preparation, look at why you take that approach and then work together to decide if there are any improvements that could be made in an area that will bring a performance benefit. We work together to understand your approach to nutrition currently and why you feel that is the way it is, and then clearly map out areas that would be easier for you to approach to begin with.

I am not here to ‘tell you what to eat’.

I am here to work with you to understand your habits, build new habits into your routine and highlight ‘blind spots’ around your preparation and recovery pre and post competition to ensure you minimise your likelihood of injury, illness and improve energy levels and performance during competition. Along the journey there are options to improve your knowledge and understanding of your own physiology and use this to support your progress.

Testimonials

What clients are saying

With Jodie’s support, I’ve also managed to improve my performance, my strength and fitness, my general energy levels, and my mood! It has positively affected every aspect of my life, not just in my sport but within my day-to-day life too. Even in the preparations for my first competition back with her strategy, support, and plan, I was able to ‘make weight’ and still train to my full potential, I felt strong and healthy and more energetic than I would normally feel whilst ‘making weight’ for a competition
